Editors want confidence in their work, knowing it looks exactly as intended. With our new Live Preview, see your content come to life before publishing.
Live Preview is our latest addition to Hygraph Studio and lets you:
- Visualize your content in real-time and reduce errors.
- Work faster by adding, previewing, editing, and saving content in one smooth workflow.
- Gain confidence in your published work.
#How to get started with Live Preview in Hygraph Studio
To start using this feature, you must add a preview widget in your schema and configure a frontend for preview. We recommend following our documentation for this configuration.
Once configured, you can access Live Previews from the right sidebar and choose the environment you want to preview in.
The Live preview will appear to the right of the content form, and changes will be reflected once you hit Save (CMD+S).
You can also open the preview in a new tab or share the preview link for review.
#How is the new feature different from existing Content Previews (Classic)?
In our existing preview capabilities, you need to open the preview in a new tab, which takes more time, and locating and fixing errors is generally more challenging.
On the other hand, the new Live Preview feature shows the editing form and the preview side-by-side. It also allows you to open the preview in a new tab, essentially providing more capabilities than our existing previews.
#What’s Next?
To further enhance your editorial experience in Hygraph, we will introduce numerous improvements to Live Preview in the future. These include an Inspector Mode to enable editors to hover over the preview pane and quickly find the right areas to edit. Additionally, we'll add the ability to view previews across different devices.
These improvements, alongside the capabilities added to Hygraph Studio, align with our aim to continuously roll out a range of features designed to enhance editors' productivity.
As always, we love hearing from you. Share your feedback on our Slack channel, and let us know what you think of the new Live Preview.
